These terms are an agreement between you and whatsmyiq.org (“we” or “us”). They apply whenever you use whatsmyiq.org: the tests, result pages, reports, certificates, the verification page and the emails we send. Together, we call all of this the Service.
By using the Service, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.
The Service is not intended for children under 13.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. Please read it too.
whatsmyiq.org offers online IQ tests. You do not need an account to take them. There are currently three:
- Quick Culturally Independent IQ Test
- 10 questions
- Non-verbal puzzles that do not depend on language or cultural knowledge.
- Numeric Pattern IQ Test
- 15 questions
- Questions built on number patterns and sequences.
- Prism Full-Spectrum IQ Assessment
- 60 questions
- Three sections, Perception, Quantity and Language, with a time limit of 60 minutes kept by our server. The Language section is offered in 20 languages.
All tests are free to take. Prism is free for now and may become a paid service later. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price and describe what is included before you buy. Nothing is ever charged without your agreement at the time of purchase.
Our tests give an estimate of your IQ. Results are for entertainment and self-insight. They are not a clinical or professional diagnosis, and they are not a substitute for an assessment by a qualified psychologist or for medical advice.
A score can be affected by many things on the day, such as rest, focus, distractions and the device you use. Please do not rely on a result for important decisions about yourself or anyone else.
We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability or validity of test results.
Prism scores are calibrated from the pseudonymised answers of everyone who takes the test. As more people take part, we update how difficult each question is and the norms that turn answers into a score. This means the same answers could map to a slightly different score at a later date.
A result that has already been issued on a certificate stays as issued.
To keep the norms accurate, we may leave out sessions that look automated, test runs and sessions that break these terms.
Each attempt runs on our server's clock. For Prism, the 60 minutes keep running if you leave or close the page. Once you submit an answer, it is final and cannot be changed.
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or any other automated means to access the Service, take a test or influence a result
- scrape or copy questions, answers or other content from the Service
- share or publish test questions, answers or answer keys
- manipulate a test session, its timer or its result, or use someone else's session
- attempt to hack, disrupt or interfere with the Service
- create, alter or present a certificate in a misleading way
- use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
If you break these rules, we may end the session, leave it out of our norms, withdraw any result or certificate created through it and block your access to the Service.
When you finish a test, you see your result page. For Prism, you can also download a PDF report.
A certificate is created when you enter the name to print on it and an email address. Until you complete the email step, you only see a watermarked preview. We then email you the certificate as a PDF attachment, together with your private certificate link.
- Your name is private. It is stored encrypted and can only be read with your private certificate link. We do not keep that link, so we cannot read your name and cannot recover a certificate whose link has been lost. Please keep the email safe.
- Signed documents. Certificates and Prism PDF reports are digitally signed by whatsmyiq.org, so any change made after signing can be detected.
- Public verification. Every certificate has a public number. Anyone with the number can check it at whatsmyiq.org/verify. Verification shows the test, the score, the classification, the percentile and the dates. It never shows the name.
- Withdrawal. You can ask us to withdraw a certificate from verification by writing to [email protected]. We may ask you to show that the certificate is yours.
A certificate shows the result of one attempt and the date it was taken. Certificates are issued for personal use. They do not certify a clinical or professional psychological evaluation. You may share your own certificate, but you may not alter it or present it as the result of a supervised assessment.
You can give us your email address on a result page or when you create a certificate. When you do, you agree that we may use it to:
- send you the result or certificate you asked for
- send you the What's My IQ? newsletter, with news about new tests, features and articles, and occasional offers from whatsmyiq.org
Every email we send has a link that unsubscribes you in one click. Our emails also carry standard unsubscribe headers, so the unsubscribe button in your email app works too. You can also write to [email protected].
Unsubscribing stops the newsletter. Emails you request yourself, such as a certificate, are still sent.
Before we accept an address, we run basic checks on its format, its domain and whether it belongs to a disposable email service. We may refuse an address that fails these checks.
We do not sell or rent your email address. Our Privacy Policy explains how we store and protect it.
We give you permission to use the Service and view its materials for your own personal, non-commercial use. This is a license, not a transfer of ownership. Under this license, you may not:
- copy or modify the materials, apart from sharing your own results and certificates
- use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
- attempt to reverse engineer any software on whatsmyiq.org
- remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from the materials
All content, features and functionality of the Service are the property of whatsmyiq.org. This includes text, test questions, graphics, logos, certificate and report designs, and software. They are protected by international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, whatsmyiq.org makes no warranties, express or implied, and disclaims all other warranties. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement of intellectual property or other rights.
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
To the extent the law allows, whatsmyiq.org and its suppliers are not liable for any damages arising out of the use of, or the inability to use, the Service. This includes damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption, even if we were told that such damage was possible.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may add, change or retire tests and features at any time.
We may also revise these terms at any time. When we do, we publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. By using the Service after a change, you agree to the version in force at that time.
These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with applicable law, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts that are competent under that law.
If you use the Service as a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
